A teh o that costs less than the parking.

A 50 sen teh o was the signboard promise that opened the doors in Taman Nusantara. It became the reason a whole housing area learned the words "boat noodle". A decade on, prices for everything else have moved. This one is still printed on the 2025 menu.

Hot or cold, 50 sen either way, in a proper cup.
Taking it away? Big cup, RM2.00 hot or RM2.50 cold.
No minimum order. Walk in, drink one, walk out. Some do.

The blue is real.

Bunga telang, steeped the same morning, colours the rice. Around it: ulam from the market, kerisik, a spoon of budu, salted egg and keropok ikan. It is a Kelantan plate with a Southern Thai accent, and it is the one visitors from Singapore photograph before eating. From RM9.90.

Four ways to eat.

Walk in

No queue app. Come before 12.30 or after 2.00 on weekends and you will get a table without waiting.

Groups of eight or more, from 3pm onwards. WhatsApp the date, time and headcount and the crew will hold a table.

Pickup

Order ahead on WhatsApp, collect at the counter. Ask for the broth packed separately and the boat noodle arrives as it should.

Which kedai is nearer from Singapore?

By the Second Link (Tuas), Gelang Patah is about ten minutes from the CIQ. By the Causeway (Woodlands), Thamada Village in Larkin is about fifteen minutes from JB Sentral.

Do you deliver?

Both kedai are on GrabFood. Thamada Village Larkin is also on foodpanda. Pickup orders on WhatsApp at both.

When are you closed?

Every Tuesday, both kedai. Gelang Patah closes at 9pm, Larkin at 10pm. Before a public holiday, check Instagram for that day's hours.

Is service charge included?

Menu prices are before 10% service charge and 6% SST. E-wallet and cash accepted at both kedai.

Teh O Ice 50 Cent & Boat Noodle opened in Taman Nusantara, Gelang Patah, with a simple idea: a proper Southern Thai boat noodle at a price a student can pay, and a teh o ais for 50 sen. More than a thousand Google reviews later, it is a regular stop for families from Iskandar Puteri, Bukit Indah, Nusajaya and Skudai, and for Singaporeans ten minutes in from the Tuas Second Link.

Thamada Village Restaurant in Larkin is the same family's second kitchen: a bigger, greener dining room near Larkin Sentral and JB Sentral, with the full Southern Thai menu. Nasi kerabu, tomyam seafood, crying tiger, pad kra pao, khao mok gai, sangkaya and banana caramel: Southern Thai cooking, priced the kampung way.
